Crowns and Veneers​

Crowns and Veneers are made in an offsite laboratory and help to restore teeth that cannot be fixed with just a filling or if a tooth is very broken down. There are private options available. Crowns can be constructed in different materials and this will be discussed with you at your appointment.

​

A crown may be offered to you on the NHS if a tooth can only be restored appropriately with one. Private options are available should you just wish to change the appearance of your tooth/teeth.

Crowns and veneers are only available after a thorough examination of your tooth which usually includes a pre-operative X-Ray. A dentist must assess that your dentition is clinically sound and your oral health is good prior to placing a crown.

Professional Teeth Whitening​

We provide Philips Zoom! which can whiten your teeth up to 6 shades in 1 hour.

​

Choosing a whitening treatment, that can either be provided by a member of our dental team, or via an at home kit that we stock, you can be assured of powerful yet safe results. We use Philips Zoom! which can create a dramatic difference in the whiteness of your teeth in just one visit.

Prior to treatment your dental professional will examine your teeth to ensure that the products are suitable for you.

​

Then they will take an impression of your teeth so customised whitening trays can be created for you to take home with you. The appointment lasts about 2 hours.

​

• Your dental professional will place a soft silicone mouth guard into your mouth to protect your gums, cheeks and lips to ensure the whitening solution can be applied safely and comfortably

• They will then apply the product to your teeth and activate the lamp, so the gel gets to work whitening your teeth

• After15 minutes, more gel will be applied and the lamp restarted. This will happen 4 times.

At-home Teeth Whitening​

Using Zoom! whitening at home involves an initial dental appointment in order to produce your customised whitening trays.

 

Your dentist will talk to you about what you hope to achieve from your tooth whitening and check that the products are suitable for you to use. They will take an impression of your teeth so customised take home whitening trays can be created for you. The clinician will check that the trays fit and are comfortable before showing you how to apply the Zoom! Gels.

 

You will leave the surgery will all that you need to begin your home whitening journey. With Philips Zoom! take-home, when used as instructed, you will achieve great results within 1-2 weeks.

Orthodontics

At School Road Dental we have a variety of options to help align crooked teeth, from minor overlaps to cases of severe crowding. Whether you have had braces before and need to correct some changes or if it’s your first time aligning your teeth we will be able to help you find your best smile.

Clear Aligners

 

We offer clear tray aligners through Smilelign® and Invisalign® systems allowing our experienced clinicians to choose the most cost effective and appropriate system for your case. Clear aligners are virtually invisible and require no long visits to the orthodontist.

​

Treatment starts with a visit to your dentist who will take a 3D scan of your teeth. This scan is then used to digitally manoeuvre the teeth into a well aligned position. If you wish to proceed then a series of thin clear trays are 3D printed to help guide your teeth from their current position to your new smile.  

Each aligner is minutely different, moving your teeth in gradual stages to their new positions.

Treatment can be really quick, with most cases being under 12 months and many under 6 months.

Composite Bonding

​

This is a procedure where a tooth-coloured resin is added to the teeth to improve shape, size or colour. It is non-invasive and results are immediate. This procedure is only available on a private basis and prices vary depending on how many teeth are treated.

​

Composite bonding is less expensive than crowns and veneers but isn't as durable or as stain resistant and may need replacing more frequently.
